Student engagement is critical in UK higher education sector, so much so that the key regulators have the following criteria:
‘The provider actively engages students, individually and collectively, in the quality of their educational experience.’ (QAA, Student Engagement Core practice)
‘The governing body ensures that all students have opportunities to engage with the governance of the provider, and that this allows for a range of perspectives to have influence.’ (OfS Public Interest Governance Principle)
We use a variety of ways to engage students in decision making and to obtain feedback. These include:
Student Surveys- Focus Groups
- Programme Approval Panels (validation)
- Internal rolling audit
- Student Representation System
- Anonymous Drop Box
